David Joel

David Joel, Managing Director of Lanson Consultants, has over 25 years of experience in delivering improvements in business performance and competitive advantage to government and commercial organisations.

David specialises in business performance improvement built upon experience in leading political, cultural and people change programmes for large, complex bids. These include the £3.2 billion outsourcing of the Atomic Weapons Establishment on behalf of Lockheed Martin, British Nuclear Fuels and Serco, and leading multi-disciplinary teams to penetrate the US defence marketplace.

Previously David was the Managing Director of a newly acquired SME, Testech, where he honed his skills in the change and culture issues that characterise a new business acquisition.

David’s early experience in the aerospace and defence industry developed his skills, experience and knowledge in the design, development, management and marketing of technically demanding, complex systems and projects.

David is the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Portsmouth and South East Chamber of Commerce that overviews the strategic direction and performance of the Chamber. He is also a member of the Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.

David is qualified in physics, has a diploma in Company Direction and is a full Chartered Director of The Institute of Directors.
